It is funny what people think ought to "impress" me.

I am simply amazed at what people think that I ought to be impressed by. Let me give a list of things that do not impress me:

1- How smart or intelligent you are (or anyone is)
2- How much money you have or make
3- How famous you are
4- Who you know
5- What position you hold
6- What you think that God's will is for my life that is not found in scripture

Most of the above can be wrapped up in one issue... pride/arrogance. I am very encouraged and am still amazed when people exibit the following things:

1- Loyalty
2- Pity/Compassion
3- Courage

I do not pretend to be above everyone else... but when people look at me with sheer amazement that I am not impressed with... (see first list) and then get angry because I am not impressed. I hope that all of us learn to exibit qualities that are encouraging and edifying to those that we are speaking to.
