The commands of God

I am very confused with people that say that they are saved and that they love the Lord and yet do not do the things that He tells us in His scriptures. I do NOT in any way look to works or keeping of the law for salvation... but by what other means do we have to not just say but show God that we love Him than by keeping His commandments...??


1Jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
